The New Horizon Center Crisis Stabilization and Mentor Program operates under the administrativeoversight of the Milwaukee County Wrap-around Program to provide short-term or on-going mental health intervention to at-risk youth in their home, community and school.
Crisis Stabilizers and mentors re-ceive a minimum of 40 hours of ef-fective and on-going training that skillfully prepares them to meet the specialized needs and challenges of this population.

- Intervene and de-escalate a crisis situation
- Recognize high risk behaviors
- Provide one-on-one therapeutic counseling
- Access appropriate community resources
- Work with a team to provide favorable outcomes for each youth
- Become effective role models and positive mentors to each youth
